No Purple Court for Northwestern

The Northwestern Wildcats have never made an NCAA tournament, the only BCS team not to do so. The Wildcats are getting close though, they have made the NIT in recent years.
Now Northwestern was in the news with nothing that has to deal with the players or the team, but the court that they play on. Through facebook Northwestern Athletics had fans choose between 4 court designs for Welsh-Ryan Arena. Three of the designed courts were normal, but one of them is an all purple court shown in the picture above. Yesterday Northwestern announced it’s new court and it won’t be the all purple court instead it will be the one shown below.
I say why not the purple court, Northwestern basketball needs all the publicity they can get. Just like the blue turf on Boise State’s football field, even though it’s been there for a while it is still made a big deal.
Now when Northwestern basketball still hasn’t made the NCAA tourney in 50 years, they will be thinking if we only had the purple court.

For me, all that purple would be a distraction, but they’re still watchable. Boise State, on the other hand, if they are playing at home, I won’t watch them no matter who they are playing. Their blue football field is just too much.
