Wiggins headed to Kansas

Published on May 14, 2013 by Scott Shirley   ·   No Comments

In a bit of a surprise the number one basketball player in the country Andrew Wiggins is headed to Kansas to play his college basketball. Most experts thought Wiggins was headed to Florida State, where both of his parents went to school. The other two schools that were finalists for Wiggins were Kentucky and North Carolina.

Wiggins is a 6’8” small forward with freakish athletic ability. He is likely the most hype high school basketball player since LeBron James.

He was named the Gatorade National High School Player of the Year. During his senior year he averaged 23.4 points, 11.2 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 2.5 assists per game.

He will be the man from day one at Kansas. The Jayhawks lose all 5 of their starters from last year’s team. With Wiggins commit the Jayhawks now have the 2nd ranked recruiting class only behind Kentucky.

Check out some highlights from Wiggins below.
