Derrick Rose is tired of hard fouls

Published on April 17, 2012 by Scott Shirley   ·   No Comments

Last year’s NBA MVP Derrick Rose is having a rough 2012 NBA season. He has dealt with a bunch of nagging injuries this season, which has caused him to miss a bunch of games. It the Bulls latest game Rose got nailed on a drive to the basket.

Late in the 4th quarter Rose drove the lane but the Milwaukee Bucks’ Charlie Villanueva would not let him get an easy basket. Villanueva gave Rose a very hard foul that caused him to bleed. On the play Villanueva got a flagrant foul. Villanueva hit Rose right across the nose.

As you would expect Rose was not very happy about this after the game. He kind of let his frustrations out on the whole season. Here is what Rose said after the game to CSNChicago.com

“It’s basketball. Hit me in my face. I think he didn’t go for the ball. Whatever they called it, they called it for a reason,” he said. “I was mad. Sick and tired of people trying to take cheap shots at me. I’ve got to say something.

“I really don’t know [why he gets cheap-shotted by opponents]. Probably because I don’t say anything, but I’m a man. Situations like that, you have to say something,” he continued. “You’ve got to. He didn’t even aim for the ball. At least aim for the ball. I felt like he didn’t and that’s the reason why I got mad a little bit.”

Rose has to except more of this in the future. Teams struggle to guard him so the need a way to get under his skin or make him gun shy. Rose will have to get used to the more physical play teams will try to employ on him because that is probably the only way to stop him.

My money is on Rose to be ready for the challenge. Look for him to have huge playoffs.

As for the game the Bulls won 100-94 in overtime and Rose had 24 points.
