Traded Clippers not pleased with former Team

Published on January 6, 2012 by Scott Shirley   ·   No Comments

Over the years the Los Angeles Clipper have been the worst pro sports franchises in all of sports. Both in terms of record, moves of management and some much more. This pre season the Clippers made a trade that showed they were committed to winning for once.

They traded away a handful of players to the New Orleans Hornets in return for superstar point guard Chris Paul. Paul is a top 3 point guard in the NBA and his arrival makes the Clippers a playoff team in the Western Conference. Something they weren’t before Paul go there.

However, just when it looked liked the Clippers image of being a cheap franchise was fading two former Clippers gave their thoughts about their former team.

Chris Kaman and Eric Gordon were both traded to the Hornets in the Paul deal. Now both talked with Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports about their times being a Clipper and about the trade that brought them to New Orleans.

“(The Hornets are) very professional,” Kaman said. “I’m not used to that. No, serious. It was an adjustment. After eight years [with the Clippers], I didn’t know it could be like this. I wasn’t used to it. The way they handle business … they’re up front with you and they tell you what’s going on and what’s going to happen….”

“All you do is take the man’s word and take that he said that no one is going to go anywhere,” Gordon told Yahoo! Sports. “… To completely lie like that is something unprofessional.”

It’s hard not to agree with these two players. I mean they found out about the trade during an event with Clipper season ticket holders. Plus they found out on Twitter not from a member of the Clippers management.

For now the Clippers are one of the most exciting teams in the NBA with Paul and high jumper Blake Griffin, but how long will it take for Clipper management to mess it up?
