Finally, there is some NBA news besides hearing about players wanting to play overseas during the NBA lockout. On Tuesday afternoon the NBA will reveal the schedule for the 2011-12 season according to NBA.com. NBA TV will have a special about the NBA schedule that will air at 2 p.m. eastern time.
The schedule will still come out despite NBA owners and players being in a labor dispute. Who knows when the lockout will end? All I know is that it will be nasty and I don’t think the season will start on time, and there are many experts saying that the whole season could be missed. So if the lockout continues many of the scheduled games won’t take place, I have no idea how the NBA will handle the schedule then. So don’t get too excited with the release of the schedule.
I think it’s smart for the NBA to release the schedule now since it creates buzz and the hype machine even though the league is still in a lockout. People will still breakdown all the schedules.
The schedule is to be released tomorrow, but two games and dates have already leaked out.
According to an ESPN source, the defending NBA champions the Dallas Mavericks will open the season at home on November 1st against the Chicago Bulls.
The second game known already is a rematch of last year’s NBA finals. The Miami Heat will travel to Dallas on Christmas Day. The game would likely start at 2:30 p.m. The Miami Herald reported this.
I cannot wait to see the schedule and get my tickets for the Celtics. I bet they will win this year !!!
