Picks Midwest Region: 2013 NCAA Tournament

2nd Round

Louisville/ North Carolina A&T- Russ Smith could play this game 1 on 5 and the Cardinals would still win.

Colorado State/ Missouri-The Rams are the best rebounding team in the nation and they start 5 seniors that’s what wins in March.

Oklahoma State/ Oregon- Oregon got screwed as a 12 the seed but I still like Oklahoma State because they have the best player in the court in Marcus Smart.

Saint Louis/ New Mexico State- For upsets you have to be a great three point shooting team and NMS is not.

Memphis/St. Mary’s- Head coach Jake Pastner will get his first win in the NCAA tournament, but it won’t come easy.

Michigan State/ Valparaiso- There were will be no Bryce Drew Buzzer beater in this one, the Spartans roll.

Creighton/Cincinnati- The Bearcats are way too inconsistent for my liking and you know you can always count on Doug McDermott putting up big numbers.

Duke/ Albany- Albany almost pulled off an upset in Philadelphia against UConn in 2006 and Duke lost to a 15th seed last year but the Blue Devils will still win this game.

3rd Round

Louisville/Colorado State- Colorado State will really struggle with the quickest and pressing defense of the Cardinals. The Rams lack of depth, this will hurt them here.

Oklahoma State/Saint Louis- Saint Louis is arguably the most efficient team in the country and they slow it down. This will give the Cowboys fits and they will try to do too much.

Michigan State/ Memphis- Tom Izzo never loses on the 1st weekend in the NCAA tournament. Memphis inconsistency really shows here.

Duke/Creighton- Last year Creighton was knocked in the 3rd round by UNC, this time they will get beaten by the other Tobacco Road team Duke.

Sweet 16

Louisville/ Saint Louis- This is where the Bullikens streak ends. Russ Smith and Peyton Siva are just too quick for Saint Louis and Gourgi Deng is to tough inside. Plus Rick Pitino way more experience than Jim Crews.

Michigan State/ Duke- In basketball the tougher team usually wins at that is Michigan State. Duke shoots too many threes.

Elite 8

Louisville/ Michigan State-These two teams meant last year and the Cardinal crushed the Spartans, look for the same result this season. The Spartans turn the ball over too much and the Cardinals thrive on turnovers.

Winner: Louisville
