Say it ain’t so. Rumors surfaced overnight that there could be a return of NBA legend Michael Jordan to the NBA, at the age of 50. Let’s simply put this insanity to rest right here and now. Jordan has been out of the NBA for 10 years and despite his warning during his induction into the NBA Hall of Fame in 2009, we should simply dismiss and rumors of him returning to the court.
First of all, has anyone seen a recent picture of Mr. Jordan? Every picture we get to see recently has him with a cigar firmly planted in his mouth and his mid-section is……well, becoming a mid-section.
Yes, Jordan is set to turn the half century mark in a week, but I’m not buying any of this return to the game crap. He’s not in shape. He wants to get his name back out there, making him relevant once again, and perhaps he’s going to release a book the week of his birthday.
Despite reports about how Jordan still has his game, he is not going to return to the game. His last return to the game was terrible, I couldn’t even begin to imagine how pitiful his potential return would be at this point.
What’s next after a potential Jordan return to basketball? A Favre return? Okay, bad analogy, Joe Montana feeling better after wearing Sketchers?
Michael- I stopped watching the NBA when you retired and haven’t watched since. Do not, and I repeat, do not do yourself the disrespect of returning to this game with the potential of embarrassing yourself. Go wager another thousand on a card game, go play another round of golf, light up another cigar. Just stop already and enjoy retirement while trying to further tarnish your career.
