Kentucky’s Noel still in question with the NCAA

Published on August 23, 2012 by Scott Shirley   ·   No Comments

Nerlens Noel is the number one recruit in the country and no surprise that he is playing his college basketball at the University of Kentucky. Once again John Calipari just reloads but will he play Kentucky this season?

According to Pete Thamel of SI.com the NCAA is looking into Noel.

The NCAA has expanded its inquiry into Kentucky freshman Nerlens Noel, one of the nation’s top recruits in the class of 2012, as two NCAA enforcement officials traveled to Noel’s New Hampshire prep school for a three-hour meeting in early August. The NCAA’s questions focused on the cast of characters that surrounded Noel’s recruitment and how Noel paid for his unofficial visits, according to a person with knowledge of the NCAA inquiry.

It’s never a good thing when the NCAA is involved and still looking into things . Before you know it college basketball practice will be beginning.

Syracuse and Georgetown were also in Noel’s top three. Noel is a 6-foot 10 power forward from The Tilton School in New Hampshire. He is originally from Everett, Mass. Noel is almost the same player that Kentucky Anthony Davis was. Noel is the best shot blocker in the class of 2012. He is just a freakish athlete with great length. For a big man Noel is an excellent passer and his post moves have improved but he can get a little better there. He could also add some more strength because he gets to Kentucky. With all three Kentucky players headed to the NBA draft there is no question that Noel will be the star for the Wildcats next season. Just hopefully now he will get to suit up for the Wildcats.
