All Big Ten Teams

Conference play is over, so it is time to do my all conference teams for each conference. Today I look at the Big Ten. Find out who have been the best players in the Big Ten so far. I will also give my player, coach and freshman of the year in the Big Ten.

Player of the Year: Draymond Green, Michigan State

Coach of the Year: Tom Crean, Indiana

Freshman of the Year: Cody Zeller, Indiana

1st Team

F Draymond Green, Michigan State (Sr.) – Is a unique big man that can do it all. He leads his team in all the following stats (16.2 points, 10.3 rebounds, 1.5 steals, .9 block). Green also averages 3.5 assists. He is also making about 1.5 threes per game.

F Jared Sullinger, Ohio State (Soph.) – Despite battling nagging injuries this season Sullinger is only a couple rebounds away from averaging a double double (16.9 points, 9.3 rebounds). He is shooting 54 % from the field and he has also added a three point shot to his game.

F John Shurna, Northwestern ( Sr.) – Shurna leads the Big Ten in scoring 19.8 points per game. He is a very versatile player, who can score both inside and out. He is averaging 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.7 blocks. Shurna also leads the Big Ten with 2.7 threes per game while shooting 42 % from three.

G Tim Frazier, Penn State (Jr.)- Frazier is a one-man show for Penn State. He leads the team in points (18.6), rebounds (4.8), assists (6.3), and steals (2.3). With those numbers Frazier is the 2nd leading scorer in the Big Ten, 1st in assists, and 2nd in steals.

F Cody Zeller, Indiana (Fr.) – Zeller has been the difference for the Hoosiers this season averaging 15.4 points and 6.4 rebounds. Zeller is averaging 1.3 steals and 1.2 blocks. He is also shooting a crazy 64 % from the field.

2nd Team

F Robbie Hummel, Purdue (Sr.) – Hummel is back to his old self after returning from two knee injuries. He is averaging 16.8 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 1.3 blocks. He is also making 2 threes per game.

G Jordan Taylor, Wisconsin (Sr.) – Taylor had a slow start to the season but he has picked it up as of late. For the season he is averaging 14.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1 steal. Taylor is making 1.6 threes per game.

G Trey Burke, Michigan (Fr.)- Burke has been one of the best freshmen in the nation so far this season. He is averaging 14.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 4.6 assists. He is second in the Big Ten in assists. Burke is also making 1.7 threes per game.

G Drew Crawford, Northwestern (Jr.)- Crawford is fifth in the Big Ten in scoring with 16.4 points per game. Crawford also averages 4.6 rebounds and 2 assists. He is also shooting 42 % from three.

G William Buford, Ohio State (Sr.) – Buford is one of the most underrated shooting guards in the country. For the season he is averaging 15.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists. He is also making 1.6 threes per game.

3rd Team

G Tim Hardaway, Michigan ( So.)- Is the son of former NBA star Tim Hardaway. Hardaway Jr. is averaging 14.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists. He has one of the best mid range games in college basketball.

G Brandon Paul, Illinois (Jr.)- Paul is the 12th leading scorer in the Big Ten with 15 points per game. He is also averaging 4.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.5 steals.

G Matt Gatens, Iowa (Sr.) – Gatens improved his game every year while he was at Iowa and his senior year is no different. Gatens is averaging 15.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.8 assists. Gatens is also shooting 43 % from three while making 2.2 threes per game.

F Deshaun Thomas, Ohio State (Soph. )- Thomas didn’t even start last season and this year he took his game to another level. Thomas is averaging 15.1 points and 4. 9 rebounds.

G Bo Spencer, Nebraska (Sr.)- Spencer, a LSU transfer is lighting it up for the Cornhuskers. He is averaging 15.1 points and 3.3 assists on the season. Spencer is also making 2 threes per game and averaging 2.6 rebounds.
