College basketball regular season is winding down so who have been the best small forwards in college basketball this season find out below. I will have another list at the end of the season.
Top 10 Power Forwards
1. Thomas Robinson, Kansas ( Jr.) – Robinson is the strongest and most explosive player in the nation. For the year he is averaging a double double with 17.8 points and 11.9 rebounds. The rebounds are best in the Big 12. In my mind he is the favorite to win National Player of the Year.
2. Kevin Jones, West Virginia ( Sr.)- Jones has taken his game to another level so far. He is averaging a double double on the season. He leads the Big East in points (20 ) and rebounding (11). Jones is also making about 1 three per game.
3. Draymond Green, Michigan State (Sr.) – Is a unique big man, that can do it all. He leads his team in all the following stats (15.6 points, 10.3 rebounds, 1.5 steals, .9 block). Green also averages 3.6 assists. He is also making about 1.4 threes per game.
4. Jae Crowder, Marquette ( Sr.) – Crowder is an undersized forward who might be the most underrated player in the country. So far this season he is averaging 17.4 points , 7.6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2.4 steals. Crowder also makes 1.9 threes per game .
5. John Henson , North Carolina (Jr.)– Henson was the ACC Defensive Player of the year last season. He also led the ACC in blocks and rebounds. So far this season Henson is leading the ACC in rebounds and blocks again. He is averaging 10.4 rebounds and 3.1 blocks. Henson is averaging 14 points per game.
6. Doug McDermott, Creighton (Soph.)- McDermott is the nation’s third leading scorer with 23.1 points per game. McDermott is also averaging 8.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists . He is also making 1.5 threes per game while shooting 48 % from three.
7. F Mike Scott, Virginia (Sr.) – Scott only played 10 games last season thanks to an ankle injury, but that has not slowed him down this season. So far this season he is the ACC 3rd leading scorer with 16.9 points per game. Scott is also averaging 8.1 rebounds per game.
8. Royce White, Iowa State (Soph.) – White does it all for Iowa State he leads them in points (12.8), rebounds (9.2), assists (5.1), steals (1.2) and blocks (1). He is second in the Big 12 in rebounding.
9. Mike Moser, UNLV (Soph.)- The UNLV transfer is having a monster season in his first year with UNLV. Moser is averaging a double double 14.2 points and 11 rebounds. He is also averaging 2.4 assists and 2 steals.
10. Drew Gordon, New Mexico (Sr.)- On the season Gordon is averaging a double double with 12.5 points and 10.9 rebounds. Gordon is also averaging 1.3 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.1 blocks.
