All Conference SEC Teams : Midway point

Conference play is half the way over, so it is time to do my all conference teams for each conference. Today I look at the SEC. Find out who have been the best players in the SEC so far. This is the time when players start to separate themselves.

1st Team

G John Jenkins, Vanderbilt (Jr.) – Jenkins led the SEC in scoring last season, and he is doing the same this season with 19.5 points per game. Jenkins is deadly from three for the season he is making 3.8 threes per game, while shooting 44 % from three.

F Arnett Moultrie, Mississippi State (Jr.) - Moultrie is probably the best transfer no one is talking about. For the season he is averaging a double double 16.8 points and 10.8 rebounds. He leads the SEC in rebounding.

F Anthony Davis, Kentucky (Fr.) – A couple years ago in high school Davis was a guard, now he has grown into a dominant power forward. Davis leads the SEC in blocks (4.9) and is second in rebounds (9.9). Davis is averaging 14 points per game. He is the best Freshman in the country and might be the best player in the country.

G Kenny Boynton, Florida (Jr.) – Boynton is third in the SEC in scoring with 17.5 points per game. He is also making 3.84 threes per game while shooting 44% from three. Also averaging 2.7 assists on the season.

G Dee Bost, Mississippi State (Sr.) –He is the 5th leading scorer in the SEC with 16 points per game. Bost leads the SEC in assists with 5 assists per game. He is also 3rd in the SEC in steals (2.1).

2nd Team

F Jeffery Taylor, Vanderbilt (Sr.) – Taylor is second in the SEC in scoring with 17.6 points per game. He also averages 5.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists. Taylor is making 1. 8 threes per game while shooting 47 % from three.

G Doron Lamb, Kentucky (Soph.) – Lamb is the second leading scorer on the Wildcats averaging 13.7 points per game. For the season he is shooting 48 % from three. He makes 1.9 threes per game.

F Michael Kidd Gilchrist, Kentucky (Fr.) – Gilchrist can do it all. For the season he is averaging 12.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.1 blocks. He is also a capable three point shooter.

F JaMychal Green, Alabama (Sr.) – Leads all SEC active players in career double doubles. For the season Green is averaging 14.1 points per game and 7.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

G Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Georgia (Fr.)- Pope has lived up to the hype as a freshman. On the season he is averaging 14.5 points and 5.3 rebounds. Pope is also making 2.4 threes per game.

3rd Team

G Bradley Beal, Florida (Fr.)- Although Beal struggled early as a freshman he has picked up his play of late. On the season he is averaging 14.4 points and 6.2 rebounds. Beal also makes about 1.7 threes per game.

G B.J. Young, Arkansas (Fr.) - Young leads Arkansas is scoring (14.4) despite being a freshman. He also averages 3.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists. He is shooting 40 % from three.

G Gerald Robinson, Georgia (Sr.)- Robinson does a little bit of everything for Georgia. He is aveaging 14 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.2 steals.

F Terrence Jones, Kentucky (Soph.)- Jones is the forgotten man on this Kentucky team. For the season he is averaging 12.2 points and 6.5 rebounds and 2 blocks.

G Trae Golden, Tennessee (Soph.)- Golden leads the Vols in scoring (13.1) and assists (4.7). He is third in the SEC in assists. He also averages 3 rebounds per game.
