What else is new Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is speaking his mind. Last season during the Mavericks run to the NBA championship Cuban was really quiet, but you know he couldn’t keep that up for long.
Thanks to the NBA lockout there is only 66 games on this year’s schedule. So teams won’t have a home and home with every team in the league. Cuban’s Mavericks are not playing at the Washington Wizards this season.
So what is the big deal? Well, when teams visit the Wizards they usually visit the White House also. This is a tradition in all sports where the champs visit the White House.
Cuban told ESPNDallas.com the following:
“There’s no point in calling them. It’s bull—- by the league not to schedule it,” Cuban said. “I figured I’d do it myself since the league wasn’t smart enough to figure it out. How can you be that stupid? All you’ve got to do is when you’re putting in the scheduling software, say Dallas at Washington, yes. They managed to get Dallas and Miami and all the games set on certain days.”
Well it turns out the Mavs will visit the White House on a Monday when they are on trips to Detroit and Boston.
I really don’t see Cuban’s point here. I mean they are going to the White House anyways does it really matter whether or not they are playing the Wizards. You are going to see the president so just let it go.
Cuban should been worried about his team’s play so far this season rather than when they are going to see the president.
