The Orlando Magic set a new franchise low in points scored in their 87 to 56 blowout loss to the Boston Celtics. In this game the Magic forgot that you need 5 players on the court at all times.
The Magic players and their coaches must have tuned out of this game very early, because after a timeout on the court the Magic only sent 4 players on the court. The Celtics passed the ball around until one Magic player finally realized there was only 4 players on the court.
The Magic’s Jason Richardson saw that there was only 4 players out there for the Magic and jumped onto the court from the bench. Richardson hoped off the bench just it time because Celtics Greg Stiemsma was wide open but Richardson knocked the intended pass for Stiemsma out of bounds.
More noteworthy is that none of the Celtics are Officials noticed Richardson hoping on the court from the bench. So Richardson did not see a foul of the play.
Who knows this might become a new strategy for coaches. Send 4 players out on the court and let one wide open by the bench and have a player come off the bench and steal the pass.
