The most news coming out about the NBA, is all the buzz about players playing in pick up games. Recently a game was played between players from the Goodman League (Washington D.C) and the players from the Drew League (Los Angeles) near Long Beach California. This was a rematch of a game that the Goodman League won 135 to 134 in the summer in Washington DC. The Drew League got their revenge on Sunday night winning 151-144.
Here are highlights from that game. Thanks to Ballislife for the top 10 plays.
There where ton of NBA stars playing in this game including, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Brandon Jennings, John Wall, JaVale McGee, Rudy Gay, Matt Barnes Nick Young, Trevor Ariza and DeMar DeRozan. Durant and Harden teammates both on the Oklahoma City Thunder played on opposite sides.
John Wall and Kevin Durant where a two man show despite the lost for the Goodman league. Wall finished with 55 points while Durant added 50 points. James Harden led the Drew League with 48 points. Matt Barnes added 20 points.
I really love these games; where else can fans get this up close to the players? I think the players really enjoyed them too, and it keeps them in shape and out of trouble. I wish I was talking about a NBA season though, not pick up games.
