Time again for another recruiting report. I will keep this a weekly thing. There were two big commits this week. All these players I am updating on are the class of 2012 meaning they will be playing in college during the 2012-13 season.
A lot of the top players in the class of 2012 have not committed to a school yet. In fact, of the Scout.com top 25; only 5 have committed to a school. The AAU tournaments have ended so prospects have time to make their college choices now.
James Robinson Pitt– Robinson is a point guard, who plays at the legendary high school basketball program Dematha in Maryland. Scout.com ranks Robinson as the 17th best point guard in the country. Robinson is a very smart point guard with high basketball IQ, he is also a great passer, and has a solid mid range game. He needs to improve his quickness as he is not a great athlete, he can also work on his outside shoot. Head coach Jamie Dixon continues to bring top recruits into Pitt, now he just has to win in the NCAA tournament, not just in the regular season. Pitt also got a commitment from center Steven Adams , who is a top 10 recruit.
Marcus Hunt Georgia Tech– Hunt is a wing player that is from North Clayton high school in Georgia. He is rated by Scout.com as the 22nd best small forward in the country. Hunt can play both the small forward and shooting guard. Hunt already has great size and strength for a high school player. His strength on offense is his ability to attack the rim and finish with his strength. He needs to improve his shooting and his ball handling skills. This is the first big recruit for new head coach Brian Gregory. In will take a couple of years to get Georgia Tech back to the national level, if Gregory keeps up his strong recruiting skills this won’t take that long. Old coach Paul Hewitt had talent on his teams but they couldn’t put it together.
Other Commit this week
