With the NBA in a lockout, and no end in sight; you will see more and more players playing in summer league basketball games throughout the country. You would think that this would keep them out of trouble, apparently not.
Matt Barnes, a small forward for the Los Angeles Lakers recently played in a summer league game at the San Francisco Pro-Am. During that he got into trouble with another player.
According to KGO TV in San Francisco Barnes punched an opponent during the game. Barnes told ESPN.com Diamond Leung that “He elbowed me and pushed me, so he got one.”
Somehow Barnes was not ejected from the game, and he went on to hit the game- winning shot.
Below is video right after the indecent.
Barnes wasn’t the only NBA player getting to trouble at a summer league game; Minnesota Timberwolves Michael Beasley also had a indecent. Beasley recently played a game at Dyckman Park in New York.
During the game a fan kept on heckling Beasley, then Beasley went over and pushed that fan. Thankfully nothing worse came out of this. I think NBA players should know not to go after fans by now.
Below is a video of what took place.
