Nowitzki calls out Terry: Terry calls out James

Published on June 7, 2011 by Scott Shirley   ·   1 Comment

With game 4 of the NBA finals tonight, there were some great quotes coming out of both locker rooms yesterday and today. Here are some of those quotes.

-The first one came from Dirk Nowitzki who called Jason Terry not a clutch player. Nowitzki is right so far in the NBA finals Terry has not been clutch. Terry is shooting just 3 for 12 in the 4th quarter so far in the NBA finals, including 0 for 7 in the 2 losses.

” They keep sticking him [James] on Jet in the fourth quarters and he’s been doing a good job,Jet hasn’t really been a crunch-time, clutch player for us the way we need him to.”

-Mavericks guard DeShawn Stevesnon called Dwyane Wade and LeBron James “ great actors” when trying to draw fouls. I agree with Stevenson, but everyone flops, and the Mavericks flop all the time too. James acted like he got hit in the eye in the series against Chicago, but he wasn’t even touched. I hate when players do this, it disrespects the game, but all players do it. The referees need to do a better job of catching this.

-Here is what Jason Terry had to say about LeBron James. This was mostly about James guarding Terry on defense.

” We’re going to see if (LeBron) can do it for seven games, that’s going to be the challenge. Right now, it’s Game 4. Can he do it again in Game 4? He wasn’t able to do it in Game 2. He did it in Games 1 and 3, so Game 4 is another opportunity.”

I really don’t know what Jason Terry is talking about. Why give more fuel to James. Terry should just worry about making shots, which he has struggled to do. James has shut him down.

-Here is what Chris Bosh had to say about the Mavs trash talk.

“It’s motivation. For us, it is an opportunity to not let up. Guys are talking and it fuels you.”

Really Bosh this shouldn’t have to motivate you, you shouldn’t need any motivation to go out there and play. Trash talk has no effect on the game when the players are on the court. Players just need to go out on the court and play and don’t worry what was said at the press conferences, most players do that.

-For me LeBron James said it best .

“Those guys have a right to say what they want to say. For me and D-Wade, we’re going to let our game do the talking. Those guys have the right to say what they want to say.”
