Please people stop comparing Michael Jordan to LeBron James. I would hope after this year’s 2011 NBA finals the argument will stop happening until at least James has 6 titles which I think he will never get. I have always said Jordan is the best player by a wide margin but some people for whatever reason think James is better.
When you looked up clutch in the dictionary it would show Jordan. He hit game winner after game winner, he hit shot after shot in the 4th quarter. He wanted the ball when the game was on the line, he didn’t shy away just look at these stats.
LeBron James 10 NBA finals games 19.5 points per game
Michael Jordan 35 NBA finals games 33.6 points per game
This NBA finals James was anything but clutch. In 6 NBA finals games he only scored 18 points in the 4th quarter for an average of only 3 points per game in the 4th. Wow that is bad. He was nonexistent sometimes he would just go and stand in the corner and watch Dwyane Wade dribble. He didn’t want the ball; he was shying away. I guess he could not handle the pressure. There is no excuse for the so called best player in the world to only take 1 shot in the 4th quarter of a NBA finals game. James only attempted 3 free throws in the 4th quarter in the NBA finals that’s just not being aggressive, that’s being passive.
Heck is LeBron James even better than Dallas star Dirk Nowitzki? Nowitzki now has 1 more ring than James. Look at these stats of the two players in the 4th quarter.
Dirk Nowitzki- 62 points, 18-35 field goals, 24-24 free throws, 19 rebounds
LeBron James- 18 points, 7-21 field goals, 3-3 free throws, 11 rebounds
You decide for yourself who is the better player. Stats don’t lie give me Nowitzki.
For now just let LeBron James be LeBron James, he is not MJ. He needs to improve his jump shot and killer instinct if he ever wants to be an all time great player in the NBA.
