How Dirk Nowitzki almost changed two College Basketball Programs

Published on June 15, 2011 by Scott Shirley   ·   3 Comments

Dirk Nowitzki is one of the top players in the NBA. He is just coming off winning the NBA championship with the Dallas Mavericks; he was also named MVP of the finals. Below are two articles how Nowitzki almost went to play college basketball in the states. Those two schools are Northwestern and Penn State whose basketball programs are still and have always been a joke. Nowitzki could have changed the basketball history of the schools forever if he went to those schools. Instead he never played college basketball in the states and went right to the NBA to play for the Mavericks.

-David Jones of the Harrisburg Patriot News explains how Nowitzki almost ended playing college basketball for Penn State.

-David Haugh of the Chicago Tribune explains how Nowitzki almost ended up at Northwestern.
