2011 NBA Draft: My top 10 Power Forwards

Published on June 21, 2011 by Scott Shirley   ·   No Comments

With the 2011 NBA draft coming up here are my top 10-power forwards in the draft.  This is by far the best talent positon in this years draft, likely all ten of these players will be taken in the first round and maybe more.

1.Derrick Williams (Arizona Sophomore)

Strengths-very high basketball IQ, shoots great percentage from three, very explosive and aggrieve. Weaknesses- needs to get stronger around the rim, protect the ball better, inconsistent mid range game

2. Jan Vesely (Check Republic)

Strengths-great length for a power forward, excellent defender especially blocking shoots, good hands around the basket. Weaknesses- needs to improve offensive skills, needs to work on rebounding, needs to add weight.

3. Marcus Morris (Kansas Junior)

Strengths- Strong post moves, very shooter can shoot from deep, high basketball IQ. Weaknesses- not a explosive athlete, his length, needs to be more aggressive on defense

4.Tristan Thompson (Texas Freshman)

Strengths- excellent shoot blocker and rebounder, good at finishing around the rim, great athlete. Weaknesses-poor free throw shooter needs to work on jump shoot, inconsistent shies away.

5.Markieff Morris (Kansas Junior)

Strenghts-good shoot blocker, strong post moves, shoots high percentage from three. Weaknesses- turnover prone, sometime disappears in games, his length.

6-10

6.Donatas Motiejunas (Lithuania)

7.Kenneth Faried (Moorehead State Senior)

8.Justin Harper (Richmond Senior)

9.Trey Thompkins (Georgia Junior)

10. JaJuan Johnson (Purdue Senior)
