Source: Paul George to sign Contract Extension

One of the top young stars in the NBA is close to signing a contract extension with his current team. That star is Paul George of the Indiana Pacers.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, George will sign a contract extension sometime this week with the Pacers.

All-Star forward Paul George and the Indiana Pacers are finalizing a five-year, $90 million-plus maximum contract extension, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

A deal is expected to be signed this week, league sources told Yahoo.

George was the most improved player in the NBA in 2013. Last year he took the Pacers to the Eastern Conference Finals in he went toe to toe with LeBron James in that series.

Last season George averaged 17.4 ppg. 7.6rpg, 4.1apg, and 1.8spg. He also shot 36 % from three. In the playoffs he raised his game averaging 19.2 ppg. He can do it all he is versatile as they come.

This is a huge move for the Pacers to keep George, especially with Indiana being in a small market. I also admire George for wanting to stay Indiana instead of going to the big city.

The Pacers return their whole team from last year and still have the best chance to knock off the Miami Heat.
