Top 5 NBA games in December

Published on November 30, 2012 by Scott Shirley   ·   No Comments

The first month of the NBA has just flown by; so what are some of the top games in December? Find out below as I list my top 5 games in December.

1.Thunder at Heat (Dec. 25th)-These teams are still clearly the two best teams in the NBA. This will be a rematch of last year’s NBA final in which the Heat won in 5 games. All 5 games were pretty close. LeBron James finally got his ring could this be the year Kevin Durant gets his? Durant and James are also very good friends.

2.Rockets at Knicks (Dec. 17th)-Wonder what the storyline in this game will be about? The Knicks failed to match the offer from the Houston Rockets so Jeremy Lin singed with the Rockets. Was this a big mistake by the Knicks? We will see by the time this game comes around. Who will have the better season Lin or the combination of Jason Kidd and Raymond Felton? Lin will also be pumped up because Carmelo Anthony called him out saying the Knicks would be ridiculous to match his contract.

3. Magic at Lakers (Dec. 2th)-This game will all be about Dwight Howard. This will mark the first time that Howard will face his former team. This game will not be so bad for Howard because it’s at home but that won’t be the story when he returns to Orlando. Howard basically demanded a trade. As for the game it will likely be a blowout and the storyline will all be about Howard.

4. Lakers at Thunder (Dec. 7th)-With the offseason moves of the Lakers they are a lot closer to challenge the Thunder as the top team in the Western Conference. This game will also be about the young versus the old. The starters from Los Angeles are all over 30 while 4 of the Thunder star of in their mid-20s or younger. Anytime Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant are going head to head it is a must watch, and it not bad when you can also watch Dwight Howard, Steve Nash, Russell Westbrook , and Serge Ibaka.

5. Hornets at Bobcats (Dec. 29th)- I know this game will be on many peoples radars as both teams will likely stink. However this game is all about the future of the league with the first two draft picks from this season squaring off. Both former Kentucky stars Anthony Davis and Michael Kidd Gilchirst will go head to head.
