Seton Hall

Coach: Kevin Willard (Two seasons at Seton hall 34-30) Overall 79-75, 5 years

2011-12: Record 21-13 overall, 8-10 in Big East( Tie 9th)

Starters Returning (3) Aaron Crosby, Fuquan Edwin, Patrik Auda

Preseason Tournament: Hall of Fame Tip-Off

Top Non-Conference Games: at LSU, at Wake Forest

Transfers In: Kyle Smyth (Iona – eligible immediately); Sterling Gibbs (Texas)

Sat Out: Gene Teague (Southern Illinois); Brian Oliver (Georgia Tech); Kevin Johnson (freshman); Tommy Maayan (freshman)

The Pirates started out hot going 15-2 but they struggled down the stretch and missed the NCAA tournament. Now the bad news for coach Kevin Willard he loses his top two scores from last year’s team, but the Pirates bring back pretty much everyone else. Seton Hall also brings in some transfers the will help right away.

Leading the Pirates will be swingman Fuquan Edwin (12.5 ppg). Edwin gets in both on both ends on the court; he led the Big East in steal last season. Patrik Auda (6.8 ppg) will likely get the nod at power forward. The Czech Republic native got adapted to the college game last season, leading the Pirates in field goal percentage. Southern Illinois transfer Gene Teague will get the nod at center. As a sophomore at SIU he averaged 8.6 ppg. Seton Hall has plenty of depth in the frontcourt. Leading the way is Georgia Tech transfer Brian Oliver and Brandon Mobley (5.6 ppg). Oliver is a great three pointer shooter. Also providing depth will be Kevin Johnson and Aaron Geramipoor (1.4 ppg).

Leading the way in the backcourt for the Piartes will be Aaron Crosby (5.6 ppg). He really came on as a freshman last season and led the team in three point shooting. The question for Seton Hall will be a the point guard position. Freddie Wilson (1.8 ppg) was the back up last season but is he ready to be a starter? Providing depth here will be Iona transfer Kyle Smith, Haralds Karlis (3.2 ppg) and freshman Tom Maayan. Maayan is coming off ACL surgery.
