Miami:  NBA Draft Grade C

(45) Justin Hamilton, C

The Miami Heat just one the NBA championship so clearly they don’t have a big time needs. So it came as no shock when the Heat traded away their 1st round pick. With the luxury tax system in place after next season the Heat don’t need another guaranteed contract. In the second round the Heat picked up center Hamilton. He will battle with Dexter Pittman/Joel Anthony/Ronny Turiaf to earn some minutes. The Heat didn’t need any help out of this draft and they sure didn’t get any with a pure backup center at best.

Offseason/ Free Agents and Trades: Grade B

- The Heat can’t get any better right? Wrong. The Heat signed former Boston Celtics great Ray Allen. Allen has the most three pointers made in NBA history.

- The Heat continued to upgrade to their roster when they signed Rashard Lewis to the veteran’s minimum.

- The Heat lost Ronny Turiaf to the Clippers.
