NBA Draft needs: Central Division

Published on June 26, 2012 by Scott Shirley   ·   1 Comment

Chicago Bulls

The Bulls could have been in the NBA finals but that all change when Derrick Rose torn his ACL. The Bulls really need a backup point guard to Rose. Especially with Rose’s status to begin the season unknown.

The Bulls could also use another player on the wing. While Luol Deng and Rip Hamilton are solid players that are not that athletic. The Bulls also often struggle to score sometimes that could use another scorer.

Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavs have 4 picks this year including the 4th overall and lowest coming at 34th overall. The Cavs should get point guard Kyrie Irving plenty of help from this draft.

The Cavs really need help at the shooting guard and small forward position. Look at the players that played this position last year for the Cavs : Luke Walton and Anthony Parker to Mychal Thompson, Manny Harris, D.J. Kennedy, Ben Uzoh, and Christian Eyenga. I would not be shocked to see 3 of their picks be at this position.

The Cavs other pick should come from the center position. They don’t have a true center on their roster.

Detroit Pistons

The Pistons are pretty much set in the back court but they need to get more players to pair with Greg Monroe in the frontcourt. The Pistions need an upgrade from Jason Maxiell/Ben Wallace/Charlie Villanueva. Look for the Pistons to take an frontcourt player with their 9th pick overall.

The Pistons could also use a slasher of a player that can get to the rim. The Pistons really only have 2 of these players on their roster with Rodney Stuckey and Brandon Knight.

Lastly the Pistons just need players that can score. They ranked 27th in the league in scoring last year.

Indiana Pacers

As long as the Pacers re-sign center Roy Hibbert and George Hill they will have the same team as last season that made a pretty good run in the playoffs. There is no obvious holes in their roster.

With only one pick in the draft the Pacers could go with a backup center to Roy Hibbert. The Pacers could also use a backup wing scorer.

Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks are set in the backcourt with Brandon Jennings and Monte Ellis they just need help in the frontcourt. With the Bucks trading Andrew Bogut they really need a center out of this draft.

Luc Richard Mbah a Moute and Mike Dunleavy are quality back up small forwards but the Bucks should try to find someone better here.

If the Bucks cannot resign Ersan Ilyasova they are also in need of an quality power forward. The Bucks have three picks to fill their frontcourt needs.
