Breaking News: Bryant questionable for game 6 with Stomach Flu

Published on May 10, 2012 by Scott Shirley   ·   No Comments

The Los Angeles Lakers Denver Nuggets series just got a lot more interesting. This is to the news that Bryant missed the morning shootaround due to a stomach virus.

The Lakers announced that Bryant is a game time decision. We’ll know more about his status for the contest this evening about 90 minutes before tip off when the team’s PR staff or head coach Mike Brown provides an update on his condition.

This is huge news for the Nuggets who are looking to even the series up at 3. If Bryant does not play there is no way that I see the Nuggets losing this game 6 especially at home. Even if Bryant does play he can’t be at 100 %.

There is no question that Bryant will try to give it a go. He has a history with playing through injuries and other ailments. There is no questioning his toughness.

Lakers head coach Mike Brown on Bryant’s chances of playing.

“If I were a betting man — which I’m not, Commish,” Brown said laughing, “I would probably bet that he would play before he wouldn’t, but I don’t know how serious it is.”

Bryant has been the best player in the NBA so far in this year’s NBA playoffs. So far in 5 games he is averaging 31.2 points per game, 5.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.4 steals. The Lakers inside players will need to step it up big time.
